At 8:40 p.m. (Iraq time), my office phone rings. I see itâ??s a San Antone number and think itâ??s one of my buddies. I answered the phone and a very sexy male voice asks â??Alma???â?� I answered â??yes??â?�. Then the caller breaks into song...OMG!!!!! My mouth drops open...and my heart starts pounding as Iâ??m listening to a very special birthday serenade. My co-workers are looking at me like Iâ??m crazy. What an unbelievable birthday treat!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ADALBERTO for the best birthday present this Windy City Lady who is far from home could have ever received. To hear you singing â??En Tu Diaâ?� on the phone especially for me was a euphoric moment that I will never forget!!! You have made this milestone birthday for me a truly special one and I thank you from the bottom of mi Alma!! Sister Liz, I remember you telling me last year at your surprise 50th, â?�what could I possibly do for yours that will even come close to what you did for me?â?� Sister, you just did!!
